Coventry Oak’s Peddicord Receives FCEA Honor

The Fayette County Education Association (FCEA) has presented its 2025-26 Award for Teaching Excellence to Tracy Peddicord, a special education teacher at Coventry Oak Elementary. She demonstrates a strong commitment to her work, advocacy, community engagement, leadership, and diversity.

“Being a resource teacher is meaningful because it combines relationship-building, advocacy, and individualized instruction to help every student reach their full potential in academic, social-emotional, and self-advocacy areas,” Peddicord said. “Watching students gain confidence and celebrating each student’s progress — big or small— makes this work both rewarding and purposeful.”

Peddicord has served in Fayette County Public Schools since 2010 and at Coventry Oak for the past four years. A Lexington native, she earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Kentucky and completed her Rank 1 in Learning and Behavior Disorders (K-12) at the University of the Cumberlands.
